CA18det extremely rich on boost?

I just swapped a Ca18det into my s13and it runs like shi*. i put new plugs in it because it keeps fouling them when the boost starts to change from vacuum. it runs great as long as you dont dip into boost, it will rev to the limiter as long as it's not boosting. i have checked all vacuum lines and intercooler hoses and bov with no leaks. the MAF has correct readings as well as TPS. It has an auto ecu. Im out of ideas, if anyone has suggestiions post em.

did you replace all of the gaskets when you swapped the engine in?

The injectors arent visibly leaking, but i have some extras i know work that ill try. And i didnt replace any gaskets. I had an sr20 that was doing this same stuff and after chasing problems one day it just went away?

what do you mean it will rev to the limiter as long as its not boosting? are you not seeing boost at all sometimes?

If you press tha accelerator slowly without pressurizing the intake it runs fine and will rev out., I watch my boost gauge. I havent changed the O2 sensor, i'll try that.

the swap is pretty straight forward. i dont know about the power steering lines, ive heard that your stock lines will work but i didnt try those and i just ditched the power steering(to heavy). you have to lengthen the MAF wires and the boost control solenoid wires. there are some more wiring issues too. I think you have to change the tach to a '91-'94,but the tach from my SR still works in it. the good news is you can get most parts for the engine from an '88 pulsar. I think the SR swap was easier though

Thanks Bigga. I think the problem is fixed. I adjusted the timing by triaL and error and finally got it to run o.k. it still has a slight hesitation, but its liveable. And the KA tranny will bolt onto the CA bellhousing but the KA bellhounsing wont bolt on the CA engine

no he said it right. he means the tranny from the ka works if your using the ca bellhousing, but it wont work with the ka trannies bellhousing.

aight so my problem is this guy has about 5 ca motors, all are automatic, would so i would be able to take the back of my ka tranny and the ca bellhousing and put it on the ca motor. right?

but would there be a issue with the flywheel

if they are all auto tranies use a bell housing from a ca18et and the guts from a KA it will work out well.
