Grounding MAF to chassis

I have heard some guys ground the MAF directly to the chassis when attempting to get rid of some electrical gremlins. My question is, would I just cut the ground wire it has now at the plug and run it to a good ground? Doesn't the ground run back to the ECU and wouldn't it "freak out" if it no longer had it?

i haven't heard of anyone grounding their maf to the chasis. I don't think this would work because i was under the impression the ecu needed to recieve a ground signal from the maf. With it cut it seems like it would recieve a constant ground signal or the complete opposite. Im interested to hear posts from anyone that has this or has attempted this change. good luck

my question is why would you want to. it wouldnt gain you anything you end up hurting your hp. you said you are having electrical problems recheck your wiring. start with the mass airflow then go to the wiring under the dash i have a feeling you messed up the wiring under the dash:anger2:
