i read on another site from a guy who knows a few things about engines although the topic is unrelated, you might want to think about this,
he writes..
As for the crappy engines: A lot of the crap isin't really from JAPAN. example the places that sell the stuff and say "we have a warehouse in malaysia" it's not that they just get a warehouse in malasia and send the stuff there from japan. why would a business want to ship something twice? what they are actualy selling is junk that had been imported into countrys without tough inspection standard several years earlier and then whored into submission. It's like the secondhand JDM market. It would be like if I sold some guy in canada my SR20DET drift ***** a few years from now and told them it was "JDM from japan"

WOW thats something to think about. Even more of a reason to get a frontclip. I know that doesn't mean it wasn't drifted but at least you know how many miles are on it(like that can't be altered).
Thats not that good of a deal for a RB20 anyway. Especially when it has to be shipped Intl' ocean freight and clear customs, which won't happen by the looks of that clip. Stuff from Malaysia is garbage on of our competitors was getting engines from Malaysia and everynbody always told me " I can get that swap from them for $less. Now they complain that the engines were bad some even blew up shortly after installation. Malaysia has no regulations just like the US if the car is being junked something is wrong with it.
Yea I realized that now. I wasn't really going to get it. I'm really doing an S14 SR. But I just thought that was interesting. I don't think that would be that bad of a swap if it were in much better shape. But thanks for the replies.
I really like my RB20, they are a great swap. Bad thing is that they are getting very picked over. Most countries have 15 year exemptions for importing non-conforming vehicles, so the R32's are being scarfed up by Canada, New Zealand, Austrailia, basically any place which has a 15yr cutoff. We in this GREAT
country called the USA get to wait 10 more years for everything to be all gone and rusted out.
