No spark
I was trying to get the car started on new years eve. I checked for spark, but there isnt any. I am guessing 4 things, something in the wiring(I double checked), ignitor, cam sensor,or the ecu. Anybody have any other ideas.

did u do your own wiring or send it out to be done. also you may have bad coilpacks. how did you go about checking for spark
|
I did my own wiring, I put a spark plug in one of the coils and it didnt have a spark.

u need to go back and check ur wiring i would look at the soldered connections for your ingnition wires also make sure your ecu is completely plugged and bolted together with the input wires. Ignitor chip could be bad but i wouldnt assume that right away i would start by getting new coilpacks after u double check your wiring

I'm going by the heavy throttle site, its pretty simple and theres still alot of wires hanging around. Would you recommend and site or links for the wiring?

http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/tech/0205scc_silvia/ this is a great write up i used in combination with the heavy throttle FAQ. Im not saying u wired anything wrong i would check ur connections though to make sure u r getting an appropriate signal

Also check to make sure you hooked the ground wire up that is located on the upper middle portion of the firewall that connects to the head. I had a similar problem that consisted of that and timing. But it was the ground that caused me to have spark problems. Good luck, unfortantly most of us have been in the same boat.:thumb:
