one more newbie question
I was looking into doing a sr swap and my first reaction was to get a s13 for my '92 fastback. But then I hear all this stuff about how the s13 responds to mods better and that i dont need or want vvt. But then i also hear that athe s14 can handle more boost the the s13, so with the extra 1k+ I save by getting a s13, if i get a t28 turbo and maybe some cams, will that be a better bet then a s14? How much boost can a s13 with a t28 turbo and will it be better just to get the s13? I only want to get to 300-320 CRANK, so if that info helps that would be cool, Thanks for the help guys

the stock turbo on the s13 and s14 sr can only safely run 13-15 psi of boost. That creates about 230-250hp stock, other mods can get u up, but if ur looking for more hp than you would have to get a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, new pistons, rods, rings, etc.

First off it's VTC (Variable Timing Control), and secondly it's not VTEC. It doesn't change cam lobes. All it does is use oil pressure to advance or retard the intake cam gear. Which gives it more mid range power.
