Question Pic of Chevy V8 TPI being installed

Answer:The V8 swap is pretty straight foward, no cutting welding hammering, everything bolts in you can find a carbed CHEVY MOTOR AND TRANS for under $1,000 and a Fuel Injected (TPI)setup for right around $1,500. LT1 setup right around $2,000~$2,900, a stock LT1 300+hp should have you in the low 12sec. range and still have a daily driver with very good gas milage.

I personally love the fact that this is being done. I was looking into the various turbo swaps out there and was leaning toward an RB, but the fact that you can easily get 300 hp out of a NA Chevy is great. Chevy parts are cheap and everywhere too. Easy to fix if something goes down (not so easy with foreign engines) and nothing sounds better to me than V8 growl (I'd take it over turbo screeching any day). Just had to throw in my opinion because it seems like a lot of people are strangely loyal to Nissan parts. HP is HP, and companies are only loyal to your dollar, so be careful in closing out other potentially great ideas due to some strange sense of loyalty.

I have never been against doing a v8 swap. I am a red-blooded american to the core and with that i get a hard-on when i hear 4 barrels opening up on a throaty V8 goin full tilt down the road.......schwing!

But it doesnt look, to me, that there is much room if any at all to work under the hood without yanking out the engine. If i did put a v8 in a 240, I would go with a supercharged 454 BB with dual carbs and a big *** cam.....

you know what, since we're going to go past the 400 barrier... let's just go ahead and say screw it and put a 550 (i don't remember exactly what the 550 whatever number was) with either a super charger or twin turbos.. that'd be more than enough... the 500 already produces 700hp...

I like the sound of a R33 GT-R VSPEC over any V8. Sounds so much better to me. Not just that, but lets compare gas mileage here. I am getting 29 mpg out of my 308 hp Inline 6. I've seen 500 hp Skylines get 20 mpg.....when are we ever gonna see a 454 that hits anywhere near that with the same HP?

Engine bay room with Chevy V8?

Actually there is plenty of room in the engine bay for maintenance.
I will post some new pics of the engine with some new chrome and polished goodies in the next few days.

Chevy V8 240sx gas milage?

Hey Night that’s a big block Chevy that you’re talking about, it's way too big (and heavy) to fit in a 240sx without doing just crazy modifications, all of my V8 conversions are Chevy small blocks.
I haven’t done a gas mileage average test yet, but it should test very respectfully because my Chevy V8 powered Volvo 740 with 300+hp gets over 21mpg, and that’s a bigger car.
“Just got to have pedal control”… its hard to resist laying down rubber all of the time!.
