Price for a SR20DET?

Hey guys, I adid use the search button and Google and I could not find a solid answer. What is a good price for a JDM SR20DET? The sites like JDMTIGERJAPANESE.com sell the engine for $1590.00. Are there any better sites that might give me a much better deal?

Don't go for the cheapest price you can find. Go with a reputable seller. Money shouldnt be an issue. You WILL get what you pay for.

Do you know if JDMTigerJapanese.com can be considered a "reputable" source? Do you have a JDM SR20 and if you do, where did you get it from?

how much would an SR20det cost? tell me completely rebuild it for the price .

Cheapest isn't always the best, as someone...I believe has already said. I search for months for my SR20DET, and finally found one for a reasonable price and low miles on it. It was the upgrade kit I bought that hit me, because it cost almost as much as my engine did. I just wanted to make sure that I was go to (swap under way) getting the "full" potential out of the engine with out causing any damage.

I'd say a good red top 90-93 would go for anywhere between $1900-2400 (possiblely more). Don't get discourage, often these engine come practicly ready to be installed, you just need a few extras (usually down pipe, hot pipe, and fuel pump). Then you off an running about 200ish hp (with side mount intercooler). Then you can start up grading, like a front mount intercooler, dual cooling fans, upgrade clutch...list goes on and on.

Hope this helped ya. I've blown a few engines, so I'm doing it right this time.
Hope all goes well for you!!!
