RB25 swap prices

hey, I'm new to 240's, right now I drive a 2000 prelude but I'm looking at buying a 240 as a project car. I went to a local tuning shop and asked them about the RB25 swap, they said that they have done them before and usually charge about $5,540 which is for the engine, tranny, driveshaft, installation, autometer tach, piggy back ecu, tuning, and whatever else. Does this sound like a fair price for the swap or should it cost more or less? Tell me what you guys think.

good price so long as they do a clean install

where at in MO are you. im located in NWA and in love with 240s. if your anywhere near the area, check out the www.nwaimports.com and sign up. also, sounds like a hell of a deal for motor, tranny, etc etc.

Seriously im finding it for 8...but thats with other things added to, including AC and power steering....

Ask around, find out if they have any credentials, ask if they warranty their work, and finally just like with every mechanic or paint shop, ask for the numbers of some of their previous customers to find out how they were treated.

man, that's really weird. I have a 1997 prelude and i am trading it for a 1993 black fastback with a rb25 in it from a local shop.

Thanks for the advice, they've had about 12 customers that they have done the rb25 swap for. The owner invited me to stop by the shop when they start on the next one which will be at the end of this month, I think they know what there doing though heres the link to the shop www.diemanmotorsports.com

Umm, no shop owner I know would EVER give out the number of a customer to someone.

Over here in orlando I'm getting charged 7.7K just for the engine there in the car runing. And the dude was like " thats 4.5K for the front clip, this from mcklenkey, that from mcklenkey, the wiring from mck....... Dam. If I'm paying that much to the dude, he better do it himself. I can friking order everything from mcklenkey and do it myself, thats what I'm paying him for. I can get the front clip for like 2.5K rip off. Thats a very good price you got there

There's some deals out there, especially if you don't mind swapping a automatic over to 5sp. Typically a complete 5sp R33 clip with 100k/km or less will set you back about $3500.

Wow, now I feel a lil weird. I can get an RB25 Front clip, shipping, install, and tuning for 4 g's. But I do get like 30% off from our local shop that I go to....Its good to become friends with tha owner! lol

thats not bad, I still do them for less with alot more extras on them, but from what I have seen thats a good price.
