RB25det powdercoated ...

Got my timing/valve covers back from the coater today. Pretty happy with the results, its a nice candy red pearl and looks awesome. I'll probably have my 300zx calipers coated to match when i pick them up.

As for swap progress, waiting for oil pan to get in this week and hope to drop the rb in this weekend. I've replaced the timing belt (greddy) and tensioner, water pump, front/rear main seals, and putting new Power Enterprises belts on this weekend. As well as the ACT Street Strip clutch. Picking up a 27x8x3 spearco fmic tommorow and the custom piping will be figured out later.

anyways, pic time

Hey dustin you get your IC?

Nice Powdercoating! We have a place here that does hi-temp powdercoating, I did the cast iron parts of my last turbo project with the aluminum it turned out awesome. On a thinwall tube it may get a little dull if it gets too hot, but it holds up good on the cast parts. My coupes getting a RB20, my car is metalic red with anthracite grey wheels what you think on the engine color scheme?

yeah i got the ic, thanks a bunch... as far as your engine, not sure id probably try to color match the exterior... its hard to put another color with red and look good. at least in my opinion. you can do a blue, but i dunno that just seems to patriotic to me lol

Blue.......

I'm thinking either gunmetal and polishing or like you said maybe color matching(can you get coating in metallic red?). I have cusco pillow ball camber plates, and strut tower brace that are a beautiful anodized blue, and I'm going to have to paint them another color because it looks like crap with the red. You should have gone for the chameleon powder coat LOL

haha yeah chameleon... noooot

gunemtal would probbly look good, i saw an rb25 that was powdercoated that, but personally i think if you did it a nice pearl/candy/metalic red to match the exterior (not that it has to be dead on) it would look cool.

just remember its an engine, and your not building a show car (id hope not at least lol) , doesn't mean it can't look good, just dont go overboard...
