Not that hard, time consuming. If you have mechanical experience, then no problem....if not, pay someone to install for you.

Very hard, frustrating at times, need lots of perseverance. Well worth it though. I wouldn't do it again for my car, but I would love to help someone with their car. I think it's fun as long as it's not my car or at least not my daily driver. I had to get it done in 1 week. I worked up to sixteen hours on it per day. On the fifth day I finally took a break for a few hours. When I came back to work after six days people noticed I lost weight.

It's probably not the description that you were looking for but thats the uglyness that I went through. Now when I say "frustrating", I still had fun. That is the most important thing. Good Luck with what ever you decide.

in terms of pieces, i mean, you probably had to get an exhaust that fits ( r33) what other parts did you have to get, because im hesitating on sr and rb because i know for rb i will have to change my exhaust and probably some other stuff(that i already upgraded)
thks

I used the same exhaust that I was using on my KA. That was a Apexi dual N1. As far as the rest of the stuff, check out the link in my signature since I have all my after market parts listed in it with prices.

PissonH 07-07-2004 07:17 PM

did you need any fiting or molding to fit the exhaust on the your new motor
thanks

xjon 07-07-2004 07:24 PM

Well, I got the after market skyline DP, also the cat converter for the s13 on ebay. The DP bolted right up to the engine. The Cat convertor bolted to that and the apex exhaust bolted to that.

You can just keep the stock KA cat and exhaust if you want to but your car will just run not to its max.

PissonH 07-07-2004 09:08 PM

but what it the cat converter exactly, does it really works and does it free up some restriction
thanks

xjon 07-07-2004 10:20 PM

The cat convertor is for emissions and it is really restrictive. Some gut it out. I tossed mine away and replaced it with a 3" straight pipe that I got off of ebay for $40.

You can also get a high flow cat but it's a few hundred.

how much did you rb25det swap cost you in total, and are the parts that expensive for the rb25det...
thanks

xjon 07-08-2004 07:39 PM

Check out the imagestation link on my signature and it will show you the prices on the parts that I got. Total cost is under $6k.

PissonH 07-09-2004 09:03 AM

i tried imagestation link, but it doest work

xjon 07-09-2004 10:57 AM

Don't click on it. You have to manually type it on top. www.imagestation.com/members/jabello Maybe try that. Anyways I spent less than $6k

But on the RB it's more quiet.
