Question S13 Intercooler piping path

As opposed to drilling a 3" hole through the battery tray, as anyone ran piping the way its showed in the picture below, between the radiator and support brace.

I plan on linking up a few 90 degree bends to to make this path work. My question is, what risks should I prepare for having the piping more exposed to road hazards. That is the only risk I can think of as of now. Any insights or experience appreciated!

hm.. im not too farmiliar with the s13 but if you can get the hose to go through there it should be fine. as far as road hazards go, i wouldnt think anything could cause an issue unless you went offroading with it and hit a log or something... just dont runover any curbs ect ect.. because you might have to buy some new tubing if you did so... little rocks and other things shouldnt harm it,... if youre worried about that why dont you just take some plastic or something to make a small guard for it. just some thoughts...

edit
also remember the shortest amount of piping is the best piping... creates less lag and less pressure loss.. more power ect ect...

Thanks for the response, appreciate it. There is plenty of room to run the piping that route, but I would then have to run a series of 90 degree bends to wrap it back around... so in the end, I decided to go ahead and punch the hole through the battery tray, much less bends and piping length. Thanks again!
