most guys swap out their sohc in favor for the dohc...why are you going the other way?

They can be built for decent power, just not really worth the hassle of rewiring stuff in the s14

I dont hate the single cam, just why downgrade to less power?? Doesnt make sense. I think this guy just posted this for fun.

while the dohc will produce more power to being with there are some benefits to wanting to use a sohc engine instead. being able to run lower octain fuel, parts being relatively cheaper and fewer parts need, that is the need of one cam vs two. then there also the obdI vs obdII aspect of tuning. also sohc engines are practically being given away so if that's why the ts is doing it then i see nothing wrong with it.

however if that is not the case then i'd have to agree that it is not a worth doing.

there is a nice ka-t single cam s14 on ka-t.org it's definitely feasible but I'm not really sure there are any more advantages than using a dual cam

You will have to modify you s14 harness with the s13 harness. I know you will have to change the maf plug, distributor plug, injector plugs. Also since the S14 uses an internal coil you will have to modify it to use external one for the s13 distributor. Now for the ecu you might be able to use your S14 ecu with the ka24e motor.
