Some swap questions. Please help.

Hey guys, im not new here but this is one of my first posts, and the time has come for a new car. i have read all the stickys and went through the last 5 pages and nothin really helped me. i am also a mechanic in training so i know my stuff. but i have some questions.

1. Will any sr20 fit into a s14 or do i need a sr20 out of an s14?
2. Will any sr20 directly fit into the s14?
3. Will fabrication of parts be needed?
4. Where do you reccomend i buy a complete motor?
5. Is anything else different or needed like axles, driveshaft, motor mounts?

i am fully capable of doing this swap my self but i would like to know if and where the bumbs in the road are going to be, or the common problems with these swaps.
Also how reliable are the sr20s i here they are a strong motor and thats waht im looking for.

I dont think that is the end of my questions and ill think of some later, but if you guys could give some answers and advice thatwould be appreciated.

1. yes S13 SR fits into a S14
2. yes
3. no
4. if you can, try to find somewhere local so you can check out the motor before you buy it.
5. you dont need new drive shaft, or axels. you reverse the motor mounts for the SR. (left on the right and vise versa)

The SR is a great motor, why do you think it is so popular to swap?? There are pretty much no common problems. There is a magazine called Project Car, and they swap an SR into an S13, totally map it out. Its basically the same procedure for the S14. Get that mag, it has alot of good info. And you should do some more searching, you could find the answers to all these questions quite easily.

I strongly recommend spending the money for a high-quality engine set....

I got mine from Heavy Throttle in NY....

The thing is clean as a whistle, perfect compression, oil and water pumps work beautifully....

They have an amazing warrantee....replaced a blown T25 turbo nearly 2 months after the swap, and replaced a blown coilpack nearly 3 months after swap, all for free

You will pay more, but it is worth it.....they only sell engines that are in tip-top condition
