Sr20 swap price
 

Hey, currently im looking into a s13 blacktop SR despite my dislike of rockers... Im not sure how much ti should go for. The guy bought it, but sold his 240 before swapping it. He's fairly local, only about 1.5 hrs away.. as far its a complete swap, minus the fmic and piping. Waiting for him to return my email. How much should i expect to shell out for it? 0:dunno: Its not like he's from an importer or whatever... any info would be great.

lol, have you made up your mind about what motor you want yet? i remember when you ka first blew and you said you wanted a ca or rb. then i read a thread you made and some guys convinced you to build an na ka and now you want sr. so many choices lol. well whatever you choose good luck.

If i had it my way, It'd be an rb20. BUT the rb20 requires some cutsom work to make it 100% functional with tach and all. the ca18 is my next choice, but few people have them, few companies stock them, and people usually dont sell them fromt heir project cars... that leaves the sr20. they hav emore aftermarket support than any of the other motors, people upgrade from sr's to other motors or wreck their sr20 powered cars and what not... and theyre everywhere... im looking for lowest initial cost, but not at the expense of quality... catch my drift?

Who said anything about a FMIC? A SMIC would be more than fine for me. Besides, what the hell are you so *****y about? I dont care that you sell blackops for 2500 all day, some people are just stupid and will take anything you feed them no knowing any better. Your motors may be awesome quality and come complete with factory side-mount and all piping and have a complementary air freshener for all i care, but thats not what im talking about. Im talking about a single individual with no reputation as an importer or even knowing jack **** about the motor or what all it has.

For that simple fact Im almost positive he cant get the same price as you could.

Besides, I dont know about you, but importers usually give a 30 day startup warranty. This guy most likely wont... and warranties sell motors

Also, its not about having uber cheap prices... Its about getting what you pay for. If i can buy 2 identical motors from 2 ppl, one wants 3 grand and the other wants 2 grand, who am i gonna get it from? "Here, let me pay an extra thousand dollars... I was gonna use it to replace gaskets and such, but hey, it must be better for another grand!"
