Hey guys, im trying to startup my completed redtop sr20det into my '90 fastback. When i try to jump the starter by touching the two terminals on it together, it sparks and then i can hear it spinning. There is no cranking action, or popping sound. Do you think this is a bad starter? any ideas here would be appreciated thanks guys

Could be. Did you check to see that you have a clutch and flywheel. hehe. Sorry had to do it. No, but it can be that the starter is spinning but not engaging. Ive seen it work both ways. Ive seen them do that and seen them engage and just not have the power to spin the flywheel. Either way its probably took a dump on ya.

 

can our sr starters be rebuilt easily?
