Supra Gen 3 7mgte motor and trans in a 240sx

i finally got my buddy down to 50 bucks for his broke ass 240sx. It needs an alternator and has a draw on the battery that needs to be found. Anyways I rebuilt my 7mgte motor in my 1988 toyota supra turbo. It's a 3.0 liter inline 6 with 24 valves dohc. With the saying i read earlier if you can weld it theres a way. It's a very strong motor and the bottom end can take up 600rwhp. It is a long motor being a straight 6. has anyone seen any toyota motors be brought in the 240sx. I work for a nissan dealership and get a lot of parts for cost. I just picked up the car and I don't really know what to do. How far can i go with a NA, and can i turbo it cause i got lot of turbos i can pick up and strap on, the header kit can solve the boost problem. I'm going to be doing a lot more research.

Hey the alternator bolt is stuck in (WHAT TO DO) he had like 4 people try to get it out. Any ideas.

thanks everyone,

Kam

I've seen a 2JZ in an S14, so I say it's possible.

Seen the 2JZ-GTE in a Skyline GT-R, seen a GT-R engine in a 240SX, so I believe it's highly possible!

Night :dunno:

We'll thank you all, I'm going to defiently due some more research. If a 2jz can fit in one, then i think i should be able to figure it out. Sounds really good. Now the fun begins. Thanks for your info, I'm in the supraforums.com and they are a lot of help. You guys sound like you know what your doing.

Thanks again,

sorry but you'll be hearing from me again soon.

Invite a man over to give it a try... if it ain't moving and you haven't snapped it yet, you're not putting much force on it.

I don't have the time or money right now to drop the supra motor in yet, and i would like to build it before i drop it. I don't know how i'm going to get heat on it,(lighter) or some sht, but there was this big guy from the army and he tried, and he was saying that it felt like the threads and the bolt was about to snap. I am a big fan of PB so i'm going to spray it down with half a can and hope for the best, then comes the big stuff. I'll figure it out sometime worse case i have a bfh (big ***in hammer).

Any tricks that people know about gettin that thing out, if not just let the thread die.

the car is 300 miles away i'm home for the break so i'll tackel it in a month, but now i'm going to stock up on parts...

Thanks,

Kam:barf:

i'm tellin ya man. get the hand held butane torch and heat that ***er up. then give it a few wacks with the hammer and a chissle. the threads are rusted and froze and you'll get it after that.... are you getting at it from under the car? it seems to be easier to do it that way with the car up on ramps.

how many bolts hold the alternator on? It's probably more than one isn't it? I'd say that you could drive the car home on one fastened bolt and another bolt stub, probably won't ruin anything, just don't rip it.

Yaeh, like someone said, if it aint broke yet, you ain't twistin it hard enough.

Get some gibbs (better than PB), spray the ****er down. Get a torch, torch it a bit, then shoot it with water and hammer the hell out of it. Then torch it more, and hammer it again. Then more gibbs, etc. You'll get it out, or break it. If it breaks, just drill it out.

As for 7M in a 240, S13 or S14? It should fit, as others have said there is a 2JZ powered S14 over in Japan. There's also an RB26 powered S14. The motor is a little long, but it will FIT in the bay. You will have to do a lot of custom funky piping and some interesting work to get the rad to fit and stuff, but if you don't mind beating the unibody up you might want to just hack up the trans tunnel and move the whole **** back some a'la uh... koguchi power?

That's for all of your guys info, I'm glad that I can fit the supra motor in the 240sx. I'm going to heat up the bolt, then water it down, spray some bolt braker. I'm just going to keep working on it. I know it'll be hard to fit the supra motor, but i'm going to put the radiator horizontally :naughty: . And i'm going to figure everything out.

Justin.b 12-20-2002 07:15 PM

You'll still fit the radiator - but you may have to run electric pusher fans on the other side... definitely no room for an engine fan.
