USDM SR20DE vs JDM SR20DE

whats the biggest difference betweent the 2 blocks ? I know that the USDM comes out of the sentra and such and is FWD but couldnt you just swap the bottem end and put in in an JDM tranny ? if the block is the same, wouldnt it be legal to swap in the sr20de vs the ka24de, and be able to pass smog n all that, then put on all your JDM turbo's and ecu n all that ?

I guess if you got paperwork for the purchase and install of a FWD SR20DE and put a "turbo kit" on it to make it a sr20det it would work in paper form.

Might not make sense to us but hey weren't skylines registered as "special edition sentras" before they were totally legallized?

what part of the motor makes it FWD vs RWD ?

internal stuffs are different...

like cams, cam gears, timeing chain, ecu, crankshaft ? cuz the pistons, block, head, piston rods, and valve cover, must be the same for it to be called an SR20DE, the differences between all the VQ35DE motors is just timeing and exhaust, i think at the verymost the intake might be different.. but thats bout it... i think

on the fwd sr20det the distributor is in a different spot and so is the starter. so that means you cant put the fwd engine in a rwd car, like a 240. The cams are different, but i am pretty sure that all the other stuff is the same
