Yes my S13 will not fire up

I finished the setup and the engine turns over. But it is not starting up, I think there is no spark. I put a tester on the end of one of my coil packs and turned the key over and the light didnt come on is this a proper way to check if its getting spark. I also have a red light on my ecu on is that normal or does that mean there is something wrong.

i know that the red light on the ecu does stay on while the key is the on position. this is normal... however, when the car starts up it should go off after a few seconds. if not this means there's a fault. i dunno exactly how to test the coil pacs though, i'm tryin to find that out myself actually because i'm havin the same problem gettin mines to start. well hope that helped a little.

put a screwdriver in the end of the coil and lay it CLOSE to the vlave cover. let go of the screwdriver and have someone crank it over while you watch. if you have signal & power to the coils a spark will jump from the screwdriver to the valve cover. Be careful not to damage the coil contact when you do this or it will never seat right on the sparkplug again.

Use a old spark plug, It is what I've always done. Same thing except it won't arc won't jump, it will fire like it normally does. This will not damage your coil pack either.
