electrical problem....please read....need help

So I bought my 1990 Nissan 240sx with an SR20DET swap about a year ago. I just started driving it because I needed to get my license reinstated after it being suspended for a year.

Anyway, I turned my headlights on....they work. But the running lights dont work and neither does the driver side parking light.

And also the reverse lights don't turn on when I shift into reverse.

I'm not very electrical savvy so I need help figuring out a starting place and knowing what to look for. Please help.

very clean car bro. i see that it is lowered.. check under your wheel wells and make sure the tires have not rubbed the wires on your body harness loose. next physically remove every fuse and check them. replace them if they look ok and take an test light and make sure you are getting current to each one of them.

with the reverse lights... and your sr swap. you have to make sure who ever did the swap hooked the sensor back up. if you look under the car you will see an lower harness running along side the tranny. Toward the rear near the shifter you will see an sensor coming out the side of the tranny. you should see something connected to it.

check it out and let us know.

no problem man...

could you do me a favor and shrink your top picture to the size of the smaller ones.. and then put them all side by side instead of stacked... will save more space on threads.

Few possibilities

Car was an auto to manual swap and never hooked up reverse. This is a little trickier than a straight swap.

Simply unplugged or bad sensor

Parking lights may not be hooked up or may have blown bulbs. But from the looks of things, you have euro front lights and they may have a different connector or bulb and therefore may require some work

I checked under the car....and thats hooked up next to the tranny. Then I took out my rear panel in the trunk and the reverse lights are hooked up. Then I went under the front wheel wells and the parking and running lights are hooked up.

I havent checked the fuses yet though. I will do that later tonight.
