since there is no section for mufflers i guess this will have 2 do.....Ok so im getting tired of getting pulled over just cuz my canister muffler is there....ive never been pulled over cuz it was 2 loud, even though it is lol, but just cuz its there.....so now im looking for a good looking resonably priced oval dual tiped muffler....i am not sure what to get but the muffler i have found that i like is the Megan Racing M-DT muffler....its $135 and looks nice....its got dual 3" tips and a 2.4" inlet.....i was wondering if any1 had any first hand experience with this muffler on a 240SX or any car for that matter.....i am also takeing suggestions on other mufflers.....my budget is about $150 and i have a 3" exhaust but i will buy an adapter if i need to.....looking forward to replies

i like the cherry bomb turbo mufflers. they have a low, deep, but not too loud tone and cost about $40 at most local parts stores. best of all, they look stock but are not restricting at all

 

get full exhaust.......... or at least cat-back if you are going to mess with it.

My cousin has the full Megan exhaust with that dual tip, annoyingly loud.

 

I say get an intermediate muffler, the ones that go to the rear all sound farty to me. I really like the sound of a Borla or Magnaflow on a 240. Sounds deep, smooth and very much tolerable. Those canisters and rear-mount mufflers always sound like *** at full throttle and then even more so when just driving down the highway. I rode in my friend, Joe's, 240 with a cat-back and canister style exhaust and wow . . .I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if my exhaust sounded like that.

 

the cherry bomb seems kinda cheap to me.....and i already have a full 3 inch exhaust so all i need is a muffler.....and i dont really care how loud it is, the muffler i have on it right now is near deafening, but as long as it sounds decent and looks more stock than the muffler i have on it....and i might look into the "intermediate muffler"

 

If you want to look "stock" but just want to be loud, you can run a 2.5 inch straight pipe to a 2 inch tip. I mean, it's gonna sound like donkey *** but at least it'll look stock and will be louder than anything else.

 

cherry bomb mufflers are quality, affordable mufflers. if you want to get some shinny, over priced muffler that will just turn yellow go right ahead.

 

I have a full 3" turbo back to a flowmaster and it looks stock as hell.



And it sounds good.

 

 

yea the oval profile is very cool, megan sells a 3in version of that.

 

What the hell do cops say to you? That is crazy you don't get pulled over for noise pollution you get pulled over due to the style of the muffler?

 

Yeah, the exhaust might look like *** but it keeps the cops away. HAHA.

 

yeah...the cops can pull you over jus for having a modified muffler.....they call it a "muffler violation"......one time i was jus cruzin at a low RPM bein pretty quiet and all of a sudden a cop pulls me over and says i have made a "muffler violation"....luckly i got away without a ticket bcuz sum1 called in a drunk driver and he had 2 leave

 

F them. HAHA. I have never heard of that. The worst part of mine is the smell. No emissions. I love it but the people behind me hate it.
