***ced up meets, and lifestyles... 240 style

so what's up guys... i've been on here for a while and i have a little issue to explain to you guys... so check it out...

I'm living in gainesville Florida now, originally from Chicago... and well i've been here about 7 years, been loving 240s (namely S14s), since i've loved fox body mustangs (since about 95ish)... just a little back round for ya...

anyways, so I'm in gainesville now, hating the Florida heat, it's frigging hot down here, and well, i finally got a 240 about three/four months ago, as some of you may know, a 1995 SE... **** when i bought it, now, nice and clean.. so i've been to these so called "gainesville meets" up at the ale house almost religiously for the past 4-5 months, and have been the ONLY S14 to park in the main area, there's been a few, but never parked out in the main... there's been a few S13's here and there, and one regular one who has so much audio in the hatch it's worthless as a 240... that's the back round...

so there's a film crew here... they've been and participated in the cannnball run, filmed it and are somewhat local heros to some of the folks around here (eveyone one of the fan boys wear thier t-shirts and what not), anyways, i've raced a few of thier guys here locally and have beaten every one, not in my 240 but my mustang, well once in my 240... so i know what it's like to run with the big dogs as well as beat them...

so here's the deal... i'm 26, and last week at this meet, 9 240's showed up and we all parked next to each other, kinda holding it down for the nissan guys (meanwhile the film crew from IMV films is asking me if i want to ride out that night for some filiming, i pass in favor of my love of S-Chassis), and so we post up, talk about our cars and all is cool... awesome... so we make plans to start a 240 "club"... i'm like sweet, this is the first time since i've been in florida i've seen more than 3-4 240's parked together at the same time (kinda rare in gainesville)... so make plans to meet on the following sunday night to find a few sports to drift and film some good footage... WRONG... this snday, this girl kelsey who drives a S14 kouki, was so wrappped up with these guys, and the guys so wrapped up with her, we ended up doing NO real driving, no drift, no autocross, no nothing, i was pissed... i mean i even said "hey guys, if i knew we were gonna spend the whole night hanging around a kouki, i'm just gonna take it to the house..."...

what a story this is turning out to be...

anyways, so at that meet on sunday, if thats what you want to call it... only 3 or the original 9 240s showed up.. we planned our next meet, i said let me find this road i raced with the IMV guys and held third against EVO's and a FD, as well as 6 other cars, civic, and 240 hatch etc... so they're all like oooh yeah!... so i go drive 50 miles(2 ways, 23 out 23 back with gas) to find this road, the only few times i drove it were at night and didn't remember where it was... so i find it (and it was and still is turely bad assed, no cops, fresh pavement curves, hairpins, banked turns, great), and we plan to meet on tuesday, and go drive this road......

so we meet up, i say lets go hit this road up guys!!! (still only 4 240's showe up, still alot for here in gainesville)... and they were all about it.... till this kelsey chick with the S14 kouki said she had to leave... and then all the sudden everyone had to go home, or had something to do, and couldn't go to this road to go driving.... what the ****?????...

so thats the latest of my current situation, i'm 26, and the average age of the people in this club is around 20ish, and have no real exp racing... i'm about driving (i have a girl no need to chase half decent skirts), and have ran some of the best locally, and won...but yeah, i'm about the road and the car... and these people are like we have 240's, whats up girl... and it's weak... so i'm thinking of bailing on this little 240 club thing...even though it's the only one i've seen since i moved here...

i guess a few questions i have from a few guys who may have been in my situation....
-do i stay, due to my love of the 240, and teach these kids what these cars are about?
-do i join up with IMV and get some DVDs going with those guys and potentially get national coverage?
-grow the **** up, get out of the car scene and get a life started... i am 26 after all, and not getting any younger...
-just deal with the young skirt chasing and try to make this club into something worthwhile?

either way, tips or whatever, comments are welcome... just kinda ranting guys!! and thanks for reading all the way, so feel free to leave any kind of comment, this is an open ended thread....

K well I read it

And I was in something sorta similar.

1. Your not at all to old for the real motorsports scene.. At our age we are considered young.

2. Car clubs for the most part don't work well because there is generally only 1-2 individuals who put out. I run my own car club back in the states.. And I wanted people to seriously get into events. However, they just were not really about it. So I did what I had to and they well did nothing. We put out a DVD that I totally funded and created and when watching... they said **** like... hmmmm "where was I At" I replied... " Not with us when we were filming.. you had other **** to do remember"

3. At your age you have by now done all what they are just starting to do.. so you could be a mentor but honestly some guys never grow the **** up... I honestly don't hang around young dudes, they are annoying to me. This is no offence to anyone here, but **** that's fun to you ( in general )... will pretty much put my career in jeopardy.

4. Do the DVD.. but note even older guys have a lot of **** with them also man... but if they are more about accomplishing things.. you should pick them over the younger dudes who have some more to learn in life.... the girl thing would **** me off honestly.. she seems to just want attention.. im bitter because I have helped some female "racers" and they have only flaked out on me so I have no faith in them honestly until they show me other wise.

all first off it sounds like everyone with a 240 is whipped down there for some reason.

second you sound like a real cool dude, i mean driving 50 miles to find a random road for some strangers... sounds like something i would do.

and third, grow up? get out of the car scene? im pretty sure you can have a 240 and a career at the same time. i mean do what you want to do and have fun doing it!

well guys, as far as having a 240 check, a career, nope, i just got laid off, due to the housing crisis, my field of work has collapsed... no need for a foreman these days to run a company... so i'll be going back to school in January (mostly i think to get a good enough job to finance my racing dreams)... so yeah...

i was ROYALLY pissed that i drove all the way to find this road that everyone was so down for, just to find out after the girl left, everyone had something to do...

and the one thing about the IMV guys, is they're kinda stuck up, you have to do some sick **** to really get in with them, which i have done, just not as much as others...... or just be a really good driver... and at this point I'm neither, but working on it. for the most part i try to obey traffic laws and keep my tire spinning on the streets to a minimum.... also my girl isn't too fond of me going out and participating with the IMV "Vehicular Lunatics" guys on a weekly basis... check em out on youtube... those are the guys i ride with sometimes...

so yeah, I'm stuck between a rock and hard place... kinda ****ty... i just want to go KA-T and autocross.... is that too much to ask for in life? lololol

well im only 20, but i still say **** the younger guys, if there in the car scene for the women, then there not really car guys
you my friend r a true car guy and id ride with u neday over those younger guys, im alot like u, i luv to just drive its my favorite thing to do, and keepin ur speeding/tire spinnin to a minimum doesnt make u a bad driver, it make u a smart dirver, what u do on the track under pressure is when u really show through, THATS when u no who is a good driver an who isnt
you say u wanna sutocross? then do it! nothing holdin u back
and if u gotta do some sick **** to get in with the IMV guys then practice, push urself and ur car(to a comfertable limit) to accomplish what u need to accomplish, if u can get national coverage out of it thats BADASS but if u cant well thats kool too, cuz no matter what u do ur always gonna learn sumthin in the process an thats very valuable to me at least

so whats up guys... went to the regular thursday night meet... was bout the same as usual... that kelsey chick decided to show up, i chatted with her bit, parked our cars together, and she proceded to text.... so i walked away to go hang with my buddys and she ended up sitting on the hood of her car for like 45 mins by herself... hahah, anyways, night turned out pretty good with the IMV guys, we ended up riding out 30 miles to this road for some midnight fun... a corvette C5 that idled like a harley davidson a 1995 twin turbo supra, and 5 WRX STis with methanol injection and a few other goodies, total combined HP with the 7 cars that were out there had to be around 3500HP.... friggin insane....

anyways, i had a blast with the REAL drivers, guys with no fear and deep pockets, so driving for them is actually a lifestyle, not just the cars... AWESOME... just a heads up...

and and so ya guys don't think i was a low HP car out there, i beat a Corolla, and a Civic hatch that was actually pretty damn fast...

your ol' boy BZ holding it down for us NA KA guys...

i remember when i was in highschool i was content taking my 95 Altima and hanging out with all the "street racers" in a parking lot. it was cool for a little while until i realized it was the same lame kids talking and talking and trying to say how fast their car was. i started growing out of that scene and longing to get into the drift scene and actually being able to throwdown. basically i wanted to hang out with the men and not the boys. your in the same boat. i mean, every once in a while ill go to a meet cause ive met some cool kids and had some good conversations, but like you i was getting tired of the kid crap and wanted something more. and while we're slowly finding what we're looking for, those same kids are still hanging out in the parking lot
