ac out HELP
 
ok so my car has been running fine but every once in a while white smoke that didnt smell at all would come thru the vents. didnt bother me cuz it would only last a few secs then go(not that it mattered if it did cuz ive been broke) but thursday morning i started up and headed out. after a few minutes i turned the air on but the ac light did not come on when i pushed the button. air will blow like normal but it doesnt get cold. what happened? thanks yall

did you ever find out the problem.....having the same problem minus the smoke. ac runs but no cold air.

Sexiest...you need to recharget the system. Find the low side port (first convert the system to 134 if needed...just buy the valves and screw them onto the r12 ones), then charge the system.

...um maybe my dad doesnt know much about a/c systems, but hes a car bible.. and he told me that you need to change the dryer too... though like i said, ive seen little info on what all has to happen.

your evaporator (the radiator inside the car) is broken and the air went out there. You'relucky you didn't catch a core troath. you need to pay $$$$$$$ to get replaced, since some of the dash needs to be removed, and all the stuff about it. then it needs to ve vacumed for air, the dryer needs to be replaced since it was opened. Aprox 400$ if cheap. and if yo uened r12 to r134 conversion, that too.
