thanks! Where is the controler box located in the car? Is that a horn in the middle? and what is that one the bottom right. This is really helpful, thanks!

I actually don't know what any of that stuff is called. It is the entire assembly I believe, I just took the photo from another website. I think that the controller is located under one of the front seats.

I read today that it was under one of the seats too, looks like i'll give it a try, thanks again

There is a controller under the back seat right in the middle, its either ABS or Air bag I forgot which one lol.

That is the place. Right in the middle of the rear seat bottom. Only problem is you need a special tool to get the bolt out. You need a TT50 torx bit.

Controlers out of both obd1 and 2 are the same. The part in the bottom right corner is the control module cover. Also secured with a TT50 bolt.

umm....If your airbags blew, then do you need to get the whole setup or can you just get the two bags, and wire it into the original stuff.

Purple240 Feb 18, 2006 01:11 PM

No, you can't. The airbag controller is a device that records and saves the accident information. It stores the data on which air bag get blown out in a crash.

For example, if you blow your dash bag the computer knows this. You put in just another new dash bag, it will never blow again. The controller just sees a blown airbag, not a good one. You have to change out the controller as well.

I've replaced 10-20 airbag setups in a lot of different make and model cars.

well that sounds expensive lol. that really sucks. i guess ill just gewt the air bags then the controller later, or would it be less expensive to buy it all at once. this sucks.

i know this is the problem on the air bag controller but since my problem is like the same "Air bag control module" im here to ask for some help. i know that control modules was secured with a TT50 bolt. but i just back from repair shop and he tells me this is the fault code that came up when I brought the car in with the air bag light on. Do I have any choice other than to pay $678 plus labor to get a new one installed, presuming I'd like working air bags? Any other possible cause, or possible solutions?

not sure if I am following the OP question completely, but if you ever question something and need an better idea of where something is located. roll to the parts counter at nissan ask em about said part and have them give you the print out. generally it shows what you need (sometimes it doesn't)

Now personally, I don't like air bags. IMO, it's like getting in the ring with Mike Tyson and saying OK Bro come at me. Knowing that you have no chance in blocking a single punch.
