Alternator In a 1990 SOHC 240sx Hatch

ok, I called the guy today and he said it would be wise to put an alternator on the car before I drive It home. Now does anyone have an DIY page for installin an alternator or have some diagrams? How hard is this to do yourself? How long should it take? Any info you guys have will be greatly appreciated...

Well no diagrams on me, but the alternator is on the passenger side of the engine and is driven by one of the three belts. YOu will need to take the adjuster bolt off and the other bolts that hold the alternator in place and the wires on it. Then install the new one and do it in reverse. The alternator is on the bottom of the car unlike some hondas, so you will need to do all of this from the bottom, with the exception of the adjuster screw.

Socket and open end wrench. There is a long bolt that runs through the altinator. I should know one of mine was falling out and the altinator was cocked.

Fun things you find when your car is up on a lift.
