A wrench? On my Z i had to unbolt the motor assembly from the inside of the hatch then the whole assembly just slid out into the hatch.

i think the 2 recesses on the top is what you have to twist off along with the screws on the inside. i remember reading about this in a thread from nico, search the threads there

there is no where on the top to put a wrench. and the two recesses is where i put a screw driver into and tried to twist it with and that didnt work. i loosened up the panels in the back, but it looks like im going to have to take them out to get good room to play around with. thanks for the advise.

Having the same problem here; my non-power (manual extending) antenna broke and I'm trying to replace it. Did you ever get it off darkvillin?

Actually I just found out that it IS a power antenna...but I still want to take it out, because not only does it not work, it's broken off at the second rung. Any help?

i think i used a 10mm wrench, pliers, vise grip, or grinder. cant remember which, but it was at least one of the 4.

use a needle nose pliers. grab a hold of the top part of the antenna (top part should have small holes on them, not sure what it's for) then twist it off. mine was making an annoying sound so i took mine off. put a plug on the hole and installed an amplified antenna. makes it look clean and easy to install.

I used a small screw driver then the crome part on top of the antenna, right before the actual anntenna close to the center. Its a round soft chrome top part. It had 2 dents on each side. You put ur screwdrive there and hammer it softly but firmly in a counterclockwise turns and it should unscrew. Its hard but if gona throw it away, hit it like u mean it
