Question antenna/look questions

I pick up my '98 S14 (SE) tomorrow. I'm very happy but I'm also very picky. The only thing I dislike is the rod antenna. I understand that the LE had a power/mast antenna, so I'm considering moving to that. However, I'm also curious on what fellow members do to achieve that "clean look."

Thank you in advance!

From what i understand you wanna eliminate the antenna and make it smooth. juss so you kno your gonna lose your "radio" (am/fm) if you eliminate the antenna.

What you do is take the whole antenna assaembly out and get some body filler and fill the hole where the antenna is. then sand, primer, sand again, paint. and viola its smooth.

If you never really worked with painting/body filler dont try this cus it might not come out smooth or match the rest of the car.

you can also just do the power antenna swap to it if your not up to the task.. lemme kno what you choose and how it comes out.

do you have the power antenna or the "stiff" one? either way its mounted in the trunk on the driver side. theres probably gonna be sum panels or carpet in the way but its easily accessable. lemme kno if you need any help.

I just took out my power antenna yesterday, and it wasn't hard at all. I got body filler from kragens and filled in that hole and sanded it down. It's really smooth, and it was my first time. You could always get an indoor small antenna and put it in on the rear panel dash were your speakers are at. Just to let you know, the motor was attached to a strip of metal with holes in it attached to the inner metal work.

You guys just want to bash on me! J/K! Yeah, bondo is a weird compound, dries to quick I think. I used to make sculptures and things out of clay when I used to be into the "Arts" So it wasn't any different. If anyone wants I could set up a thread on a proper way to use it. I practiced on sheet metal, then I did my car, I liked it. N-E-ways, I don't know how to upload pics on this forum/thread, I'll try later.

Alright, I don't know if this will work, but here it is. It's muggy outside so my camera didn't do a good job, I used my cell phone camera. Since it's been drizzling out, I need to patch up the side of the patch, there's a little rusty spots, bad! I'm not going to do a thread on patch work, the can of bondo is self explanatory. I say experiment, it's the best experience! Oh yeah my antenna motor is broken, that's why I took it out, I also didn't like it.
