A/C leaks
****, one problem after another. I might as well get a SR motor and hopefully it'll solve all my problems. LOL
Anyway, anyone know how to replace or repair this piece? So i was refilling my AC with R134a and it started leaking out of this. It looks like the compressor to me. Wonder if its just a bad connection that i can patch up or something. Not really sure if it's leaking from the top bolt or the bottom bolt. Any ideas? http://i43.tinypic.com/fu1hdi.jpg |
you dont want to patch anything in the AC system... very very very hi pressure system brother.
take it to an A/C shop and let them check it for you.. they may have to vaccumm your system also. |
more likely than not it's just bad o rings.
|
so funny how that little peice of rubber or copper keeps things from leaking.
|
I suppose if there's nothing in the system i can probably take off the two bolts safely right? And I assume beneath the bolts are the o-rings you guys are talking about right? If so, i'll check it out tomorrow.

How the heck do i even find this "O-Ring" at the local parts store? Is there a specific name for it or is it specially called "O-Ring" compressor?
|
they usually are sold as a set, just ask at the front counter for a/c o-rings/seals. you can also look them up on line to get a part number.

Ok, so i fixed the leak but still no a/c coming through. I used the Ez-Chill system to charge it and it came with the gauge. After i charged it, i check it with the gauge and its still in the Green Zone which means nothing is in the system.
http://projectsleuth.com/ez%20chill.jpg I could take it in to have it checked out. Any thoughts? |
