Canadian DRL's

does anyone know where to find a set of canadian daytime-running-lights for rps13's. i found a pair of aftermarket lenses for $130, but i am looking for OEM, or CDM? (canadian domestic market). and if anyone has a set and is willing to ship out, i would flip out mad bills, yo. lol.

yea, i kno its poo- i mean't oem as in nissan-made instead of some- poor fitting knock-offs. i think the iirc were the ones that were $130 too,.....search goes on....

Yeah. Look at http://www.pdm-racing.com/products/misc_lights.html
They have em. Im looking into making some fiberglass molds of them, to tolerate higher heat so i can make them into HID fogs.

yea thats what i wanted to do, but i was gonna settle on some lower intensity bulbs so i didn't melt them. haha i knew sum kid that got those $1800 kouki taillights for his b-day and got rear-ended 2 months later by an f-250. actually thats pretty sad...:tear: :tear: :tear:

$1800? You talking bout the LED clearcorners versions? Yeah that sucks. Im going to get the DRL's, and make a fiberglass mold of em... Hello new HID's!

the operating temperature of a xenon capsule is much lower than a conventional halogen bulb. heat issues are not something to worry about. of course, sticking a rebased hid burner in the drls would be a nightmare anyhow.

LA_phantom_240 Feb 10, 2007 10:56 AM

yes, it would. Forums make me 2.7x smarter than normal. lol. I learn a lot online. You think I could use an HID projector inside there? provided I remove the flutes or make an entire new lens?

silviaks2nr Feb 10, 2007 07:27 PM

you arent going to find an hid projector that will fit. however, there are a few fog projectors that take well to hid burners. if you are going to do all that you might as well just retrofit the headlamps, i'm not sure why you seem to be disinterested in that.

LA_phantom_240 Feb 10, 2007 09:56 PM

Retrofitting the h4 lamps would be an awesome choice, if space werent as limited. I have yet to see a bixenon projector that will fit behind the light, without causing mechanical issues. The reason i said bixenon instead of regular xenon is because those who have lowbeams only without auximarry highs are tards. I couldnt live without highbeams cuz I do so much night driving in crappy places. Happen to know the dimensions of the DRLs? Space behind em isnt an issue, which is what made them a viable option imho

a bixenon retrofit can be done, while sealed beam lamps arent very big, s13 lamps are very large so i think you have alot of room to work with. infiniti fx projectors or e46 bixenons would be good candidates. the bixenon solenoid really doesn't take up a whole lot of room.

Ive heard that the e46 are subpar as far as output intensity.. care to explain?

they aren't the best no but they will be amazing compared to an hid kit or stock halogen lamps. japanese and hybrid projectors tend to be the best, like acura tl bixenon projectors with audi clear lenses etc.
