a week ago i picked up the cleanest '90 240 you would ever see in your life. Im serious, the paint is good, no excellent. the motor, clutch , tranny. all good. everything running smooth. heres the best part... it had one owner, and she ought the car from the dealership when it was first released. and it was a she, so you know she took care of the car.. she evan gave me the sticker that came with the car when you bought, but my dad lost that, and i have no clue what it looks like... im curious..


ok, here is my concern.. i have no lcue what model 240 it is. i dont know if it is the se or xs (i think)

it has ac, power windows, power door locks, and moon roof.. if that helps.

anyone know of a way to find out???

also, what kind of motor is in it? i was doing some resaerch, but there is just soo much bs out there.

well i dont know much about s13 but that sounds like a SE. All US 240's come with KA24 motors, there are KA24E and KA24DE, it should say what motor you have on the metal plate in your engine conpartment on the firewall.

btw KA24E=single over head cam

KA24DE=Dual Over Head cam

your vavle cover gasket would say dual over head cam if its a DE

ill check tomorrow morning on my way to work for black friday... God i hope its the dohc..

oh, and what is the hp and torque output stock?

also, i have been hearing info on the whole lsd thing. i herd some come with the lsd (2 wheel) , is that true?

No, your s13 has a ka24e. So its a single over head.

Yea some 240's came with a LSD and some didnt.

lsd was an option yes but only way to know is to:

A. lift the rear of the car and spin 1 tire and if the other one spins you have lsd

or

B. do a burn out and see if it leaves 2 marks

90 = sohc 140hp 150ftlbs

keep in mind those are the figures when new...

oh and stock KA's are slow.... lol im not sure on exact numbers but sohc has like 130hp/140tq and dohc has 150hp/160tq to the crank. might not be exact numbers but im pretty sure im close

damn.i just went outside and checked the car and i pulled the owners manny. haha. and yup, its a ka24 SOHC.. which makes me sadd. but no worries. i have plans. but damn, i was hoping it wasn't sohc!!! damn man, that makes me madd.

well if you really want to you can find a KA24DE for cheap and put it in. you would need the engine tranny and ecu i think.

and a KA24E at that age probably gives out maybe 90-100 hp at the wheel. super streets new magazine, project car, they bought either a 89 or a 90, and dyno'd it before moding it, and it got somewhere around 80 hp, but theirs was in bad condition.
