Copper Return Line? Help!

So... long story short. Im new to boost, and just turbo'd my KA24E. When I removed the oil pan to weld in an oil return line bung, I put it on the opposite side of the engine from the turbo simply because I didnt think the return line had to be at a downward angle the entire time. So when I found this out, I ran the silicone return line behind the pulleys and belts and to the bung, of course this is dangerous and the belt has now notched the line, so Im putting a hard line there in the middle and bolting it up and running the silicone from one end to the turbo and from the other end to the oil pan.
The parts store didnt have 3/4 inch steel tubing, so I bought 3/4 Copper tubing thinking it would be fine. Now before I install it, I have a question. Will the copper contaminate my oil somehow? And will the oil contaminate the copper? If so Ill return it and go with the steel, but I have the copper already. Im not lifting the engine again to remove the oil pan, cut out the bung, patch the hole, and weld another one onto the other side, so Im def runnign a hard line.
So long story short, will copper work?
