ill probably be gettin a 95-96 240sx soon, but i wsa curious about a couple of questions....i kno the sr20det swap is popular but wouldnt a ka24de motor with a turbo kit have more power? and which motor came in the s14? and wher can i get the silvia bodykit??

 

The KA turboed owns the SR. Just gotta do it right. Do it wrong and bye bye engine. But the block can handle the boost, its iron, rock hard, lol. The KA24DE came in the s14. Search around for silvia body kits. youll find a lot. Here's a good place. www.takakaira.com

Yes the ka24de does come in the US 240sx.

 

JDM S14 engine- Blacktop SR20DET and SR20DE(I think)
USDM S14 Engine- KA24DE

 

usdm s14? i dont think we have those man, is there a way to order the turbo setup that cam on teh s14 for the 240 motor?

 

S14 is the Chassis. So -HyJynX- is correct about the USDM S14.
Now the S14 sr20det is sometimes called the 'Slant Top' or 'Notchtop' so it's not confused with the Blacktop S13 engine.

Yeah, S14 is only teh chassis code. 240SX is the American name. In Japan they're called Silvias, the Fastback is called the 180SX. In both Japan and the US, the 89-94 240SX's are called S13s, the 95-98 I believe are called S14s and the 99-up are called S15s. Don't confuse chassis code for name. Although some are interchangable, know that the chassiss code changes depending on the year and model of the car. Just to let you know.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to answer your question. Yeah, S14 body kits will fit the 240 since the S14 is a 240.

Yup, the "d" in the engine code stands for DOHC

KA=block
24=2.4L
D=DOHC
E=electronic fuel injection
