Fuel Gauge/Needle on my S14 is stuck on FULL after hard driving, help!

After some hard driving, the full gauge needle keeps pointing at FULL. I've been told that it could be the float that it could have gotten stuck somewhere and made the car read that its still on FULL when it isnt.

Is it possible that it could have broken off and now it reads full? Do any of you know how the fuel float works?

I tried look it up in this message board but can't find a decent answer. If you guys can tell me what to do and what to expect if I took it to a professional to have it looked at, I'd really appreciate it. Please give me some replies ASAP! I know you guys can help me the most.

Alright I got it fixed. Thanks to Krayton from AZ**********. IF you ever have this problem, just open up your fuel tank from the trunk and find your fuel gauge assembly, then reattach it to the bracket on the tank. IF you find your 'orange' float just floating around and not stuck to the wall, then thats the problem. Just re attach it to the bracket located on the tank (just feel around or use a flashlight and look for it) and it should be fixed. This is mainly for S14 owners who drive their car hard at the track or whatever. Mine detached itself after a day of drifting, but its really not hard to fix. Just follow what I said above. Good luck to who ever has this problem and I hope you get it fixed. If you still need help, just email me at joel@pnoise.com. You can also reach us at our forums: http://nv**********/forum
