General 240 Problems

Well I thought I would just make a thread and everyone should/could add to typical problems that they have noticed with the 240's, People can review it when buying and know where and what to look at

So far I know of:

Sunroof Whistle at high speeds
Power steering leaks
rotted hatch's due to spoilers
timing chain
Valve cover gasket

Not sure if its common, but my S13 has bad electrical problems

Just off the top of my head, Add if you want to

I found a way to silence the sunroof...at least the hatchback sunroofs. I cut tiny holes in the weatherstripping, and fill it up with silicone... Ive seen some use very small amounts of that expanding foam with good results as well.

changing leaking coolant hoses that are impossible to change that you have to take the intake manifold off for is expensive and sucks fer sure

the "hole" in the trunk is to drain it if your car gets caught in a flood?

The alternator issue is with all nissans...
check to make sure the alternator mounts are clean as for good grounding and also check to make sure the positive wire is run well. dont buy nissan alternators they suck.. spend some cash and get a good alternator with a warrenty!
