GT28RS or GT2871RS
i cant decide on which one i want the GT2871RS is like $100-200 more then he GT28RS but what im looking for is responce and max power around 300-340 at the wheels.
so confused, btw my set up is gona be a tubular manafold. turbo back 3" exhaust, 550cc injectors, Apexi power FC and i have not decided on the turbo :dunno: btw i got a redtop SR for anyone that dosnt already know that. |
mmmmm so all you want out of the car is horse power?

well...you better re-think your setup.
550cc injectors wont cut it unless you plan on never running over 15psi. also, you better start building the motor with better internals first. i personally have been working towards this turbo for well over a year now and check out the build list. i just founf out i got the wrong injectors, so now im even farther behind. you might want to just do a s14/s15 sr turbo upgrade. minor changes to stock motor required. my build list: ok so here is the list from what i can remember up tp date on 2-1-2007 this is just " performance" parts there is nothing like projector lights or some other non go-fast parts that i have installed Jay’s Parts list for 1998 240sx Updated 2-1-07 S13 sr20det redtop 3 inch Megan Racing turbo back exhaust Wiseco pistons 86.5mm (.020 oversized) Wiseco piston rings Port and polished head Titanium Turbo manifold (brand not remembered) Ferrea titanium dual valve springs Ferrea titanium valve spring retainers Enjuku Racing rocker arm stoppers HKS 264 intake cam HKS 264 exhaust cam Cometic 1.01mm metal head gasket OEM Nissan valves OEM Nissan timing chain OEM Nissan water pump OEM Nissan valve seals OEM Nissan connecting rods OEM Nissan bearings ARP head studs Enjuku Racing copper exhaust manifold gasket K&N breather filter ACT heavy-duty street disc clutch ACT heavy-duty pressure plate Fidanza Light weight flywheel with removable disc Nismo Trans cross member Koyo radiator Distilled water with Water Wetter Greddy front mount intercooler v-spl Greddy intercooler piping kit OEM Nissan Maxima dual electric fans Odyssey PC680 slim battery Enjuku Racing hot pipe HKS SSQV blow off valve RNR manual boost controller Auto Meter Boost/Vac gauge Auto Meter oil pressure gauge Stewart Warner G.U.S. gauge Stewart Warner gauge cluster lighting Apexi super AFC-II ConZult tuning program Apexi turbo timer Heavy Throttle 3-inch intake kit Enjuku Racing radiator cooling panel Tein Flex coilovers Ebay front strut bar Ebay rear upper strut bar RUCAS (name not remembered) Ebay drift button Hankook Ventus Z212 tires Wiring harness made by Wiring Specialties walbro 255 fuel pump SARD FPR |
GT28RS (Disco Potato) is a great turbo, but if your goals are 300 whp, an s15 turbo should provide the power you need with only a slightly longer spool up time. I'm very focused on getting a responsive setup, but the S15 will get me to where I want to be. If you want more than the 300, I'd go for the GT2871RS
