How long do you think SR20's will be around?

Okay, so I am picking up my 1995 240 on Saturday (11th), and I have been thinking to myself, I really wont have that much money after I buy the car, so it is going to take me a while to save up for my huge project etc. How long do you think the SR20 motors/frontclipswill be around? This kind of worries me, and I plan on doing a swap in about two years. Any input or opinions will be helpful.

Thanks,
Zach

Not quality front clips. There is a lot of junk already coming into the country. A friend of mine bought a front clip from a quality importer(pm me if u wanna know who, i dont want to put this company on blast on the web) and had to settle for an auto because it was gonna take too long to get a 5spd. They did give him a 5speed swap for free though. Quality 5speed frtclips ARE dwindeling. Don't get me wrong , i will be ordering from this company because I've heard good things. But understand it's harder for companies to get quality front clips. Another reason I've heard more and more ppl going KA-T.

Yah I figures red tops will be harder to get in good condition, but s14's and newer, will be ok, at least that is what I think.

I just bought the last one.. sorry. I guess you'll have to do something else with a new motor.

I'm kidding. I really had no real reason to reply to this. But, as any engine, there should be no reason why they wouldn't be around in a few years from now.

He got it from 1 of the best importers around. It's just that they only import the cleanest motors and there are less clean quality clips in Japan. There out there just not like a couple of years ago. Oh BTW it was an S14 clip.

SR20's aren't new. People have been putting them in cars for years, the quality and how many are left all depend on the company you choose to import yours. Truthfully, I don't think you should worry.

what they need to do is kill the se-r and make the foria concept. take a look at the first cp silvia, and youll see where the foria is getting its dna from. definately wont be a s-chassis but theyll need to develop a cheaper platform than fm in which they could expand and introduce other models on. the qr25 wouldnt be too bad in this thing
