ok im not gonna get into details on this one as i feel like quite the idot to have gotten myself into the situation... anyhow i was racing a buddy, in **** conditions and spun out and ****ed up my car..

damage we're looking at is as follows:

-replace entire front bumper, lip, the works.
-replace left front fendar and and wheelwel
-possible replace/ rework right fendar
-replace left pop-up for sure, maybe right.. or just refinish..
-left turn signal, side marker, replace
-either replace or rework and refinish the hood... (ugly v as it stands)
-radiator needs replacement or re-work (is it possible to fix it)
-intake repais

k that's about all i know of now, mind you ill prob need anew tire, who knows what's up with suspension until i can even get at it, fix alignment..

im just not sure what to do.. the shop it's at right now gave me an estimate.. they say im looking at 5000$ just to take care of the list never mind the suspension (mindyou this is canadian $$$) so what like 3000$ fo most of you? the parts lists he gave me is only 2000$ and the labour is ****ing 3000$. i dont know much about this but i feel like im getting ripped on labour. like they said somehting about 15 hours to do whatever on the rad.. the last thing i want is to get ripped.. im only new to this.

what do ya'll think? does that sound right? im not sure what to do.. i dont want to turn a 4500$ car into a 10,000$ car. see you may all just say buy i new car, right it off (dont have colition dont ask me why $$$). but this car (pre-accident) was in mint shape. still just under 100k. orginal everything.. except for my modifications, no rust nothing.. and i look in auto trader for other 240's in the 5000$ range and they've all got at least 200k.. and besides i love this car, sao i think it will be worth it to fix it.. im just really unsure of what to do at the moment..

about the radiator, id just get a new one.
about the labor thing, i dunno.what i know about mechanics is they get paid a set amount for a job. like...each job has a set (average) time that it should take to complete, and they get paid based on that number. so if it takes longer for them to do, they get paid less than they should. if they get it done faster, they get paid more. (even though its the same amount). after re-reading that i dont think it helps much...haha..sorry. but at least its like...trivia..or something..lol

i dont mean to preach, and i'm glad that your okay.....but this should be a lesson to everyone who reads this.....if you feel compelled to race do so ONLY if all conditions are satisfactory....weather is something you should ALWAYS take into consideration when you race, next time u may not be so lucky

Good luck finding fendArs, they're reall hard to come by. Especially since you need to replace them whenever maintaining the Finnegan pin's - which has depleted the supply.
