I don't know much but coilovers question
Okay, as seen I'm not that literate in the car field and parts field or anything on that. I just like my s14. Anyways my 95 s14 crashed last wednesday and i bought a 96 s14. It is bone stock and because my 95 had real ****ty coilovers and was in poor condition i bought load of parts. I have a set of megan racing pro coilovers and megan racing camberkit. I also have strut bars for both front and rear. Now first question is, if i install the coilovers am i going to still be able to have a smooth ride like my stock suspensions and if so how? Secondly where do i find the rear struts to install my strut bar? Thanks.

LMAO.... no, coils are gonna make your car ride rough. especially since you got the pro series.
look in the trunk for the struts. |
okay thanks so what kind of performance suspension system would i have to get for smooth ride and performance... or is it a sacrafice of one for the other. I looked in the back trunk and i am having a tuff time finding them. I read something about under the speaker deck, but i can't seem to get my seats to fold so i can take a look. Sorry i know i sound silly as hell but hey gotta ask question when everyone around me seems to be Honda guys and i got a nissan they dont want to touch.

you can prob just lower your preload and set the dampening to the lowest setting to get decent ride comfort. I am not really sure about the strut thing. your prob gonna have to take your back seat out of something. just do a little research.

alrite apreciate the help man, uhm preload is that mean stock or are we talking bout my megan racings?
|
well, with coilovers the springs have to be pre-loaded in order for the spring to work properly because it is not like a conventional spring strut set up where the weight (load) of the car is on the spring being supported by the spring perch on the strut. check what megan recommends for the preload & back it off a lil from that. preload is determined by measuring the spring in its natural state, & then compressing it with the jam nut using the spanner wrench. but no matter what you do the car is going to ride rough. its the price you pay for excellent handling:).

and yes, the rear strut is bellow the speaker deck thing. fold your rear seats, take off the cover and there ya go.

alrite thanks appreciate all the help
