just a simple question for u guys!

Me and my bro are arguing bout which intake system is better, stock intake wit K&N filter or aftermarket intake such as AEM, INJEN, watever.. wit K&n FILTER! i say aftermarket. wat u guys think?!?!

silviaks2nr 12-23-2005 10:13 PM

just take the filter off, you don't need it :p
the less restrictive unit will produce more numbers as a general rule so probably the thin-filtered chrome tube generic intake will

Levi SPL S14 12-23-2005 10:49 PM

you need the filter unless you like stuff in your intake manifold

AEM and Injen are great in there own right.

I say unless you specify what car you're talking about, you can't make a solid judgement. There are some cars out there (not 240's though lol) who's intake system is so good that you don't mess with it other than (if anything) changing the air filter element to something less restrictive.

aftermarket piping is most of the time better b/c of the less restriction. It doesn't make a substancial difference which filter you use you're probably only pulling in 1-5 hp tops anyway
