It's an Apex'i N-1 EVO. I spent $534 after taxes and shipping.

2fast4y0u 07-15-2005 03:15 PM

holy hell... thats some cash for a shiny piece of equipment that goes under the car...
doesnt that kinda of piss you off, you buy such a nice item thats all shiny and perfect then you put in under your car were it gets trashed...dammit that sucks. i hate knowing that i spent money on something like that

sorry for the abnormal ranting but its true!

th3br4d 07-15-2005 03:19 PM

Lol, I got it for a good price compared to everywhere I looked..

rc240 07-15-2005 06:02 PM

not bad looks good

Ayuaddict 07-15-2005 06:02 PM

looks nice...what diameter is that piping?

BigVinnie 07-15-2005 07:21 PM

That looks like 3" pipe. The add claims "Tip 115mm and Piping 75mm-85mm". I found it for $447.00. 3" is no good if your still N/A, and not turbo.

th3br4d 07-15-2005 07:49 PM

Well, when they dyno'ed the KA with the N-1 they got a 14 hp gain. For $447, was that after tax and shipping?

That is false advertising. NO cat back exhaust in the history of man adds 14WHP from stock OEM trim. Try more like an average of 2WHP, CAT backs alone, as long as they have the restrictions of the CATYLITIC and stock header only produce a fraction of a HP in the power band. A header weither it is DC sports, thorley, pacestter, Hot shot, or OBX doesn't even come close to making a 14WHP gain. If a header isn't even making numbers like that from a stock OEM KA what makes you think a CAT BACK will. I can see I'll probably have to clear up this thread too, GEEZ. The fact is you don't even really have 14WHP to play with in the power band as far as Degredation works "your not changing your N/A stock OEM 145CHP that comes from the SOHC KA, especially if you have stock flywheel, stock pulley, stock drive shaft.

http://www.gripmotorsports.com/ps~pn...ust-APEXi.html

Total cost I Think is about $530 with shipping and it's $459, not the $447 I thought it was..... But I don't recomend anybody buying this CAT back for a stock OEM KA pullying under 250CHP. If your stock OEM Throttle body isn't even 3 inches in diameter why would you wan't such a large exhaust. I've worked with the KA for years the best exhaust diameter is 2.25" to 2.5", if the KA is well built with mods.
Porche doesn't even use a 3" pipe for the N/A engines for christ sake.
Here is a thread you should pay close attention too I'm tired of explaining why a 3" exhaust is bad.

It's not really advertising. It was part of a test that SCC magazine did a few years ago.

The Apexi N1 (may have been the N1 Dual) added like 14 (or more) hp at the wheels in their dyno tests. I'm pretty sure everything else was stock. Stock cat and headers.

That test is just as fake as the testing done on injen cold air intakes. I red that Sport Compact Article, Apexi paid to get that dyno done. SCC is nothing but an advertising gimmick, every page you read is a advertisement for products, I actually went to college to understand market research, it's all fake hoopla. When companies want to advertise they pay magazines such as scc to make a glorified advertisement, by showing some fake ASS results.
On a serious note NO way by itself will it make 14WHP with the stock CAT. Like I said before stock headers don't even make 14whp in stock OEM trim.

I want one. :(

At least the SCC tests had some dyno numbers to back up their claims.

Fake or not, that's more evidence than you have offered to back up your hatred of 3" pipes.
