Anyone ever do this to an auto? Where would the over drive button go?

i have extended the wires to mount a new button on the dash next to the od light... it is easy to extend and then you can put the button anywhere you like... but like i said putting it on the dash in one of the blanks is a good spot to put it...

Jake that A/T shift knob is designed for Hondas or other cars that don't use an overdrive button, but have 1-4 in the gate

once you use take the shift knob off you should find 2 wires. Cut the wires and extend them with speaker wires. Go to the part store and buy a toggle switch and find a spot to install it. I previously own a camry and found a small panel that came off.http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...51_80_full.jpg

The shift knob your about to install will be way to short and it will look stupid. etc.

It looks really stupid but it works. To fix this you have to purchace a pipe cutter. There are smaller version of this thats much cheaper.

Once you take off the factory shift knob you will find a hollow metal pipe with a plastic center. Trim both pipe and plastic equally until its at the desire length. Now you have a shorter shifter.:thumb: Shifting will feel alil odd after this mod. You will need to reach further down and its alil stiffer since its less leverage.

^ it's different with 240's.Plus honestly... what's the point in putting an aftermarket shift knob on a car that doesn't get shifted constantly - in other words, an automatic?

Looks - I guess that could be a reason, but I can't think of anything else other than "you shoulda bought a 5-speed"... IMO it's like putting on an FMIC on an N/A KA LOL

some of us have reasons in buying an auto 240... mine happens to be 36 years of abuse to my knees which includes 17 rounds of knee surgery and a knee replacement... thats why i bought an auto... i looked for 7 months to find an auto just for that reason... i can do short amounts of driving in stop and go traffic... but any amount of time and walking becomes almost impossible...

and who says autos dont get ****ed??? if i take my car to the track i always shift mine manually... but that is just me...
