Exclamation Manuel ecu in automatic...

I have a 90 240sx se its an automatic .. Well the ecu that came with the car went bad it was sending a constant 6v to the number one injector and was just dumping fuel in.. Well we switched the ecu with one from a manuel car but now i dont got overdrive and now my transmission slips through all gears... So my question is Does the manuel ecu work in a automatic car?? or is it my transmision that just needs to be changed???

Any help is appreciated ...

i know you can put the auto ecu in a manual car but i don't think it can go the other way. I don't know if the ecu controls the transmission or if it has its own control unit. if the ecu does control it then it doesn't know to tell the transmission how to shift properly.

you cant run that in a auto... the auto ecu sends signals to change gears.. you can run auto in manual though.

from what I have seen if the tranny slips it is bad. all the ecu does for the tranny is tells the tranny when to shift. the problem could be hydraulic, a clutch pack or a band. a lot of things can go wrong with a tranny. I say the ecu isnt your problem, its the tranny. however you never know try putting the proper ecu in the car.
