Maxima fan help

I have my maxima fans..theres 4 wires coming off of each, I wanna run them so their on when the car turns on. I figure I can tap into a wire in the interior, i ran the wire already, anyone wanna break this down for me? wiring wise?

just hook up the two positive together and run it into your fuse box and tap into your ingition. Then just hook both of your grounds together and tap into your negative terminal on yo battery.

black is ground blue is power.. .however... please run a relay young nick.

-first run all positive and negative wires together in series

-ground black wire to chassis

-by 75amp fuse and follow diagram to connect.

-run switch to power wire and run it inside of car.

extra

-by a temp switch install and set it to desired level to turn on

jramosthe1st! 06-18-2009 03:01 PM

what kind of relays, spst or spdt?

there's a write up here somewhere i did a while back if you want to look it over.

JapanS15 06-18-2009 03:42 PM

SPST. Would be OFF-ON. _____>------ <--- example

SPDT would be more for an OFF-ON-OFF or ON-OFF-ON.

jramosthe1st! 06-18-2009 05:42 PM

not exactly, although in terms of off and on, a spst relay could be considered off-on. a spdt relay however would be more like on-on since there is always a closed circuit, it just alternates.

JapanS15 06-18-2009 06:24 PM

why would he need to alternate? I thought he was looking to hook up both fans to run together? So, that's why I said SPST relay. (not trying to sound like an @sshole)

jramosthe1st! 06-18-2009 09:32 PM

he doesn't need to alternate, i'm just saying that a spdt relay operates more along those lines than the off-on-off or on-off-on example you gave.

anyways, it's time for another shameless plug so here's my write up.

the purpose for the relay also young nick is so that Current is alternating and not just straight draining from your battery. when i hooked my fan up without the relay, my voltage would drop from about 13.9 down to about 13.4-5... with the relay it would dip quickly and go back up and stay up.
