Megan Racing Coilovers...worth The Money Or Not???

i want to get coilovers for my 240sx but i dont want to spend 1600 on them. i go to the track and road race not drift. I know megan racing have theirs for 1000. is it worth the money, if you own them or have used them please tell me if they're good or bad, i would appreciate your participation!

yea theyre pretty decent, but then again, we bought a set for our shop car and we got them for $700, if i had $1000 i would save up another $100 and get KTS or Stance.

driftfreek 01-01-2007 11:12 PM

is kts or stance better than megan? and for long have you guys used those megan coilovers? any problems with them yet or anything?

Ayuaddict 01-01-2007 11:28 PM

well we just got them, but i know other people who have had them and they say they are decent, holding up pretty well. KTS and Stance however are a bit nicer than megans in build quality and materials. the customer support is also good, and they have replacement parts readily available unlike silkroad or jic.

i got tein flex for 1400 i dunno i didnt even consider other companies i had my mind set on tein the entire time lol. well i love them it rides nice on the street and i can use edfc. cant wait till the next autocross

kts and stance are a little better, but there also 400 dollars more exspensive. I say if you have a 1000 already get stance, but if not that much you can get the megans for 850 shipped from jspec.com

I heard Megan Tracks are good, they have stiffer springs than the streets.

zenkislider 01-02-2007 04:32 PM

ya streets are 8/6 kg and track are 12/10kg

I went to the local hang out (old timey resturant), and one of my internet buddies pulled up (never seen him in person) and is ****in kouki was slammed.

He has stance coils and I couldnt believe how low it is. His front lip is no less than 2 inches off the ground.

Its also sr'd, black, and a kouki. He pulled out, hit second sideways, but he also has a diff, not sure what kind thoe.

thats awesome dude lol, i would have jizzed my pants.

Ill try and get a pic of his car sometime just to show yall how low it is.

driftfreek 01-02-2007 10:53 PM

damn!!! is stance that low, doesnt it have height adjustment? its coilovers should have it... uhmmm

Ayuaddict 01-02-2007 10:55 PM

stance goes pretty ****ing low, iirc they also offer shorter springs for people who want to go even lower.

driftfreek 01-02-2007 11:48 PM

ok well all coiloves have height adj, that means i can keep it at normal height for the streets and lower it for the track right? so height shouldnt be a problem?

Ayuaddict 01-03-2007 01:04 AM

yea, if you really want to i suppose you could, although it would make sence to do it the other way around. there are different kinds of height adjustability also, you want the adjustable mounting brackets, not only the adjustable spring perches or whatever.
