This place has most if not all the info you need. May I reccomend a KA-T (Stock motor with a turbo added) build as opposed to swapping in an SR20DET (Japanese Factory Turbo motor) like most people do. If the car is a hatchback look for any rust under the rear hatch, as that seems to be an issue.

As for major do's and don't my father and I have some rules:

1: Just because you CAN, does NOT mean you SHOULD.
2: Pick a theme, and stick with it.
3: All parts need a reason to be installed. "It looks cool" Does NOT count.
4: Choose a use for the car (DailyDriver, Drag, Drift, AutoX, ect.) and design around that. A secondary use is acceptable.(My mustang is a DD that Drags.)
5: Build the car for YOU. It is your car, not someone you know online. Opinions are nice but they are not the final word.

Hope these help. Welcome to the site. Take a look around and you might find some cool stuff.
