Opportunity of <97 240sx

Hey Guys, I need your help I have the opportunity to get a 1997 240sx SE for $6000 or less. It has 162,000 miles on it and I really don't know if it will be ok or if I should even take the risk. I am 22 with not enough money to buy the car and then do the swap right away, I am a college student also, and working part time. I need some advice, so please help. I checked the carfax report and there has never been any problems with the car, except for the fact that it has 162,000 miles on it. If you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

It is an automatic. There is no rust on the body, I haven't been able to check the undercarriage or suspension for rust but I have to assume that there is some based on the fact that it is about 9 years old and in the high humidity of Houston, TX. I don't know anything about the maintenance record, like I said the body looks good but a little bondo goes along way.

i usually go to Prairie View every couple of weeks (45 min from houston) and ill sell you my 95' for 6k : P

but seriously 6000 isn't to bad concidering the prices ive seen in central tx for 240's. As long as the engine has been maintained it will run for a while. I know people with 200k on their KA and still running fine..

Yeah, i would low-ball him ... see if you can't get about 4,700 or 4,900 .... thats a reasonable price.

Tell the guy you found one with 130,000 on it for 6,000 .... and if you can't get under 5k for it, then your gonna take the other ... he'll go down.
