problemo
 

i recentely came upon a really lame problem. when i'm at a stop light or something, my gauge cluster would go dim and light back up repetively and my radio would completely turn off and on and it feels like the car's gonna stall out or something. but when i'm driving, my gauge cluster is fine, but my radio still shuts off and on, and sometimes my windshield whiper might turn on for a second. its gettin annoyin, anyone know what might be wrong? is my s13 haunted? :dunno:

so i guess the only solution would be to replace my alternator , correct?

that and how old is your battery?

When I drove my parts car to my dads, It would stall out when I came to a stop. My dad said its cause the clutch is so weak...

Do you have a multimeter to test it the alternator with? If not borrow one, im sure you know somebody with one. Touch the positive end to the output terminal of the alternator and the negative end to the frame and see what its putting out. Either that, or I think autozone will test it for free for you.

how many amps are in a stock alternator? i found acouple new ones on ebay with 80 amp

I would definately not buy an alternator off of ebay.... thats just me though. Why not autozone or even the pick n pull? But if you insist on getting it off ebay i think 80 amp is stock.

stock is 80 amps

ive read an easy upgrade would be a 1997 nissan quest alt. its 110 amps but needs drilling for the mounting.
