removing steering wheel ?

i tried searching. question is ... on s13 steering wheel, and i guess s14 as well, how do you get the center piece off ? the piece that you push to honk the horn??

I'm thinking i just pop it off with a screwdriver, but i wanted to make sure because i don't want to break anything (like trying to pop off a plastic piece when there's a screw that's somewhat hidden)

thanks ...

use a long screwdriver = better leverage, will come off with one pop (s13)

for S14 you have to take off the small plastic covers on the backside behind the 3 and 9 o' clock positions (one of them covers the cruise control button housing) and unbolt it, since there's an airbag in there on S14's.

Ok, i believe my question kind of coincides with this one. Whenever i turn the wheel it makes a kind of creaking sound, my roomie told me it was metal rubbing against metal and im going to have to take the steering wheel off and remove a piece. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem.
