Ride Quality ?

I replaced my stock struts with AGX a couple of months back .. Since the roads here suck real bad and I was worried about scrapping my undercarriage , I decided not to lower my car (1992 coupe with 142K) .. I notice now that my ride is a bit harsh even with the front suspension setting at the softest ..

My question is : How much of this could be because of sticking with the stock spring and if a changed spring might have given me a more compliant ride ...

The handling is great (which is what i really wanted from the upgrade) and I have nothing to complain ..

Thanks guys for your inputs ..

I haven't changed the suspension on my car, so I'm no expert, but I think if you upgrade your shocks, you should also upgrade your springs for optimal ride quality.

I wanted to do it .. But I couldnt find a spring that would not lower my car .. And since my mechanic told me that the springs appeared to be in good condition , I just let it stay ..

Do you think putting in sportline or prokit might have actually given a better ride quality ..

the sport lines and the pro are both stiffer than the stock... you should lower your car to have the quility of the ride go up a hair.. whiteline springs will probly be your best bet for a comforatable ride with out lowering it too much

sorry to let you know, but thats just how the 240 is....the ride in our cars are harsh no matter what.Im sure every small sport compact car is the same... ive changed suspension like under wear, from h&r, sportlines, kgmm, tokicos, KYBs.....and to be honest.....as far as comfort, all of them are pretty much the same....only difference is cornering is much tighter. but as far as comfort, im sure your mechanic is right, nothing wrong with the stock springs.

As Nismo has suggested I am just going to live with the fact that I am driving a true sport(y) car and not even think of ride quality ! Ofcourse the car makes up for all those harshness with the great handling it delivers and that should be more than enough to make up for it .. Winding roads .. here i come ...

Thanks guys for all your views ...
