SMT6 VS. APEXI Controller

Alright guys here is a short story I purchased my apexi controller a few months ago great unit to have to shift the power band, and actually increase more Crank Horse Power by dumping more fuel. Also has a detailed display and mounts to the dash or roof of any vehicle. Is great to look at for display input and outputs. I only payed $265 for my apexi. But the down side to the apexi is that it doesnt change the frequency responce to the temp output signal....... But the APEXI is much more verstile and easier to use.....

Lately I've been researching other piggy back units such as the SMT6 which can also be used on any make or model OBD vehicle. With the smt6 you need a laptop and a program to reprogram. But it allows you to change the ignition map, that means with advance tuning on the cams or distributor you can change the timing ignition on the BTDC...........
I've left the link so you can do the research yourself......

What do you guys think APEXI SAFC or the SMT6??????????
Or would it be possible to link both piggy backs???????

FC "Fuel Controller" that is an entire Engine management system cost about $1200, same thing as the AEM EMS..........
You can use the Power FC if it is programmed for a distributor 4 banger nissan engine. If you convert the KA to distributorless, a "DIS" then you can use the Power FC that is compatible for the CA18DET, and SR20DET, all the engines run on the same sensors.
SAFC Super Air to Fuel Converter is much more simple and is for a street tuner.....
The power FC isn't streetable, or atleast in the state of Cali......

Kinda like the pot calling the kettle black, eh? Anyway how much does the smt6 cost? If it's signifigantly cheaper than a greddy e-manage, then I say go for it. Otherwise I'd lean to the greddy unit. But I'm not much of a fan of these piggy-back systems myself. I'd rather get a plug in stand alone like the aem or apex (Which are very different by the way) when I can afford to start tuning. However I did plan to run a e-01 and e-manage on my turbo protege project, but only because the damn aem doesn't support obdII....

Yeah I guess I'm lucky I have a 91 KAde for that AEM then.....
I would do a stand alone also but it isn't cost effective, when retailers get smart and sell them for what they are worth which is around $800 I'll be there to pick one up.
I think the SMT6 retails for about $400 and has much more programming than the SAFC which I will remind you I picked up my SAFC for $265.
What I like about the SMT6 is that it can change the input signal to the timing ignition "ignition MAP".....
You can play with the power band more with the SMT6, allowing to optimize power and efficiency....
As for me the SAFC is fine for my application, I am investing into adjustable timing gears, and wiseco 11.1 CR forged kit through Nizzx. I will manually shift the power band through the distributor and timing gears...........

Around $400? Damn, in that case I'd definately get the e-manage, You can buy them off ebay around $250. Ofcourse it's more once you add on the accessories but it looks like it'd end up cheaper than the smt6 and it has higher resolution maps as well.
