Question Very clean 240SX needs mods ideas and suggestions:

Hi, this is kind of a 2nd part to another posting of mine, Imlooking into getting my 240 "restored" , I guess thats the right term.... I mean the car is in 'excellent" shape, very clean, interior is in brand new condition, only timing chain, muffler, brake master cylinder and brake pads replaced in the past. Mileage: 60,000 miles, 1989 240 fastback. There is no rust or prior accidents related to this vehicle. The first thing It needs is a paint job; nothin wrong with the original paint, is that I will like to add a wing and 180SX taillights and take care of the paint issue at the same time. I seen that the rear side window seals are a problem when 240's are repainted, is it a good idea to take this off and get the paint job and then get new seals on for a perfect look?? how about around the sunroof?? Im not looking for speed, just to keep my car like brand new and a few visual effects, i.e. tail wing, 180SX taillights, custom rims,etc...any ideas???

thanks!

Well I would get the sunroof seal, because that becomes hard and starts to break, also I really don't know about the window issue so I wouldn't comment there. You said you had custom springs and thats cool, should get a set of KYB AGXs to complete the deal and also be careful of the wing. I recommend not getting one of those "park bench" "ready for take off" wings bur something that fits the 240 lines. check the style section for some of that stuff.

Well hope I can add some more things for you.

I think the sunroof one is tops $40 from nissan but someone on the site said that you can use like regular weatherstripping from the hardware store and that will cost like $8 or so. I would still rather buy the Nissan one because that's the way I am, rather factory than something that will look funny.

What?!? Damn you S13 guys got it easy. My weather stripping has been crappy for my sunroff since I bought my car. I've been told the whole damn sunroff has to come out and be replaced. $700 later and it'll be fixed. Whatever, its fine if I open it up, it just doesn't like to be vented.
